The OUA is comprised of 20 universities across Ontario, participating in 23 different sports. Each of these schools can provide athletic scholarships [Athletic Financial Awards (AFA’s)] to student-athletes. Student-athletes looking to play their sport at an Ontario University could receive up to $4000 annually.
In order to qualify for a scholarship, first year student-athletes must have received an average of 80% or higher in the Grade 12 high school courses used for admission to the school.
In order to maintain a scholarship, student-athletes must receive an average of 70% or higher in their University courses.
Student-athletes may also qualify and be eligible to receive academic scholarship, bursaries, leadership awards, merit awards, and other financial-need based awards.
Student-Athletes' Game Plan can help you pursue Athletic Scholarships and other financial options if interested in playing in the OUA.
